Hi and thanks for visiting my blog. About me…
I am an award-winning photographer of people & dogs. I began as a photojournalist back in the days of film and enjoyed an award-winning career shooting for weekly & daily newspapers and agencies including (first to last): Phoenix Gazette, Arizona Republic, the Taos News, Summit Sentinel, Denver Post, Rocky Mountain News, Fort Collins Coloradoan, AP, UPS, Blackstar and a host of images published in magazines.
I’ve been a photographer, writer, editor, designer and educator over the years.
I have enjoyed a long period of photographing weddings – and winning my fair share of awards along the way! I brought my photojournalist’s eye to capturing weddings long before Denis Reggie said it was the cool, new style. I don’t change my style of shooting to suit the trend; I feel that’s not respectful of my vision. That’s not to say I don’t push my vision – I do. But what sets me apart from other shooters is my ability to capture The Moment.
Along the way, I discovered a real knack for photographing dogs. Many of my wedding clients own dogs and I always insisted the dogs come along for our lifestyle shoots. My ability to work with dogs was apparent to my clients. To test the waters, I entered a portrait of my dog, the Bear, in an international competition and received an award for the image. Between my ability to work with dogs, my location lighting skills and our awesome Colorado Mountain locales, it was a no-brainer to begin focusing on this genre!
Many years ago, I was introduced to this unique plastic “toy camera” by Jonathan Bailey. In the years since, this has become the only camera I shoot when not shooting “professionally.” My images have been exhibited and awarded internationally! Again, I bring my photojournalist’s eye to this unique camera. I have had work displayed in many galleries, exhibited at Denver International Airport, the Colorado Governor’s office and in publications. Keep checking back as I add recently captured images!

I have been teaching photography to others since 1995 at Colorado Mountain College! I began offering Basic Digital photography in 2011. I have taught Basic Film photography and Documentary photography. I post most of my student works on facebook, using the site to connect my students with other like-visioned photographers around the world.
Thanks again…I hope you enjoy my work.
