I had the opportunity to do a dog photography session Dillon Police Officer Wendy Kipple and her K9 partner, Digger. We did the dog photography session Tuesday night during a beautiful Lake Dillon sunset. The dog photography session was a goodwill gesture for Wendy and Digger, who lost a leg to bone cancer one year ago in August.
LITfoto.com features a complete dog photography gallery from the session.
A little background on Digger……
Digger is 13 years old and has worked as a certified police dog for 12 years. Wendy adopted Digger as a 5-week-old puppy from the Summit County Animal Shelter. He and Wendy obtained certification as a K-9 Team through the North American Police Work Dog Association. Digger was well known in 7 counties and was certified in narcotic detection and tracking. Throughout his career Digger would be called on frequently by agencies in Summit, Park, Grand, Clear Creek, Grand, Lake and Eagle counties. He earned the nickname of “Super Nose” by some of the officers that called upon his skill in sniffing out drugs or finding lost people.
Sargeant Wendy Kipple has been with the Dillon Police Department for 15 years. Before that she worked for the Summit County Sheriff’s Office.
